THE STORY
Once upon a time, in some out of the way corner of that universe which is dispersed into numberless twinkling solar systems, there was a star upon which clever beasts invented knowing. That was the most arrogant and mendacious minute of "world history," but nevertheless, it was only a minute. After nature had drawn a few breaths, the star cooled and congealed, and the clever beasts had to die. One might invent such a fable, and yet he still would not have adequately illustrated how miserable, how shadowy and transient, how aimless and arbitrary the human intellect looks within nature. There were eternities during which it did not exist. And when it is all over with the human intellect, nothing will have happened. - Friedrich Nietzsche

Ever dream? Well of course you do, only I'm not talking dream dreams, what I mean is dreaming of big things, being that much better than you find yourself at this moment in time.
I would think that the majority of people do, though I am no expert I would say everyone does, some more than most, we have the fantasist, the eternal dreamer, the one who is for ever staring out the window oblivious to the teacher or boss going purple about the face in his/her attempts to claw their pupil/employee back to reality, the would be hero even the would be victim. There are all kinds of dreamers and we make this world such a wonderful place, dare I say, at times such a dreadful place. But that's how and why we are what we are and what we have and what we will get, because if it were not for the dreamers of this world we would not have the luxuries and fun things we have and shall have, from cuisine, home, work, leisure. There would never have been a Izzac newton a scott of the Antarctic a Nelson of Trafalga or the most decent of men by the same name but ending with Mandela, well you get my drift so what am I waffling on about?...... A great man once said "you gotta have a dream", (now I hope I'm not committing plagiarism here), if we don't have that star to reach for then why are we here? It must be born in mind that the tragedy of life does not lie in not reaching for your goals, the tragedy lies in not having a goal to reach for! It is not a tragedy to die with your dreams not fulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster not to capture your ideals, but it is a disaster to have no ideals to capture. It is not a disgrace to reach forth for the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for, not failure, but low aims is sin, " YOU GOTTA HAVE A DREAM". You probably got it, that great man, none other than Martin Luther King, a fine upstanding human being who the world was so cruelly robbed of. Lets hear about your dreams, lets hear what you think the future might bring, it doesn't have to be for yourself, what do you think will be the future for our planet, do you believe what the scientists tell us or for that matter archaeologists even NASA! I'm sure there are a lot of people out there with some great thoughts and ideas, would be fantastic to hear them. You cannot run away from weakness; you must some time fight it out or perish; and if that be so, why not now, and where you stand? |
let me know how i'm doing, good or bad I can take it.
